Non-immigrant Visas
General Information
All applicants should apply only via the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) DS-156. Handwritten or typed DS-156 applications will no longer be accepted.
(EVAF) DS-156 is an interactive form. It must be completed online and formatted by pressing the button "continue". It can then be cleared and printed. The third page, containing a barcode, must also be printed in order to process your application. Please make sure that the barcode on page 3 is properly printed and intact. Forms that are not completed online and brought to the visa interview with an incorrectly intact barcode will not be accepted.
Applicants sometimes experience problems filling in the electronic version of the (EVAF) DS-156 when the system is down. If you experience problems, please wait several hours before making a further attempt to complete the form.
The Non-Immigrant Visa Unit is open for interviews from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
For further information please contact the Embassy's Consular Section.
