Electronic Nonimmigrant Visa Applications Mandatory Starting November 01, 2006

Effective November 01, 2006, all nonimmigrant visa applicants will be required to complete an ELECTRONIC VISA APPLICATION FORM (EVAF) DS-156 to apply for nonimmigrant visas.  The electronic DS-156 visa application forms can be downloaded from http://evisaforms.state.gov.  The EVAF is also available in several languages in addition to English.

Please note that handwritten or typed applications will no longer be accepted beginning November 1, 2006.  The Consular Section may only waiver this mandatory requirement in emergency or exceptional cases.  Such waivers waiver decisions would be made on a case-by-case basis.
